What, Where, When: All the Pretty Horses

By Kara Lashley
Recently, while searching for home design finds for our New in the Showrooms department, I was lucky enough to come across the work of Ridgefield, Connecticut–based photographer Bonnie Edelman. A former magazine editor, Edelman worked on Sport Illustrated‘s famous swimsuit issue, orchestrating photo shoots the world over, before getting behind the camera herself. Today, her favorite models are exotic beauties of a different sort: powerful, playful Uruguayan horses.
For eight years, Edelman paid an annual visit to Bordoneo Farm in San Carlos, Uruguay, creating the stunningly beautiful black-and-white photographs that make up the collection Sermo per Equus (Conversations with Horses). You can catch a glimpse of the series in the summer issue of New England Home’s Connecticut, but we thought Edelman’s remarkable images deserved more room to run.
