What, When, Where: Tory Burch Home
October 28, 2013
Tory Burch may be based in New York, but I think she secretly designs with the New Englander in mind. Her colorful, preppy and polished aesthetic tells me that she just gets us. Plus, show me a region that has more enthusiastically adopted her iconic Reva flats and classic driving moccasins than New England? What was a passing trend in the rest of the world has become our unofficial footwear.
So, I was very excited to learn that Burch would be launching a home décor collection this fall. And ever since, I’ve been hopefully conjuring images of the layered patterns, gilded accents and traditional but eclectic foundation that form her summer home in East Hampton, which appeared in Vogue last year.

After seeing the collection last week, I’m happy to say I wasn’t dissapointed. Her line embraces her love of print, and showcases her traditional good taste. But there’s also a touch of glam here or a bit of irreverence there that make her home line feel more personal than her clothes.

Not your grandma’s needlepoint.
Coasters, a wine opener and a tortoise-and-bone box are all part of the new line.
For now, the collection is available through the Tory Burch stores on Madison Avenue in New York City and on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, and online at toryburch.com. But, fingers crossed, the home line will be available in Boston soon!
