What, When Where: Take a Seat
January 24, 2011
When I moved to Boston just over four years ago, the first purchase for my new home was a pair of turquoise leather chairs from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. Seems a designer had custom-ordered the chairs for clients who, lucky for me, changed their minds about the color. They caught my eye as soon as I stepped inside the store and I bought them on the spot.
I’m always on the hunt for new products, both for our editorial e-newsletter, this blog and the “New in Showrooms†department in each issue. Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of really cool chairs.
This pair of late-1940s Italian slipper chairs is new in stock at the always-fabulous BG Galleries in Hingham (which, incidentally, will be the featured “Design Destination†in our upcoming March/April issue).

Casa Design sent me images of these modern Achille Chairs for consideration for New in Showrooms and I just love the pop of color they could bring into a room.

And I have to profess my adoration for these Martin armchairs by Casa Milano–a contemporary, comfortable take on a director’s chair–that just arrived at Showroom.

I can see myself sitting pretty in any one of these!
