J. Seitz & Company may be Litchfield County’s best-known secret. It’s hidden away on the shores of Lake Waramaug, yet ask anyone—designers, celebrity weekenders, and locals—where they like to shop in Connecticut’s rolling hills, and they’ll say Seitz. It’s with good reason that the New Preston shop is a favorite. It always feels familiar, yet in some ways like you’ve never been before. We visited the home of Joanna and Bill Seitz recently (the article appears in the Fall edition of New England Home Connecticut) and saw what makes the couple tick—creatively. Both the shop and the home “bear witness to the couple’s approach to life—that nature is to be celebrated, friends and family treasured, and authenticity revered.” The photographs are stunning. Don’t miss it; the issue will be on newsstands starting October 21.
