Taste & Tour of the Greenwich Design District

When PR Maven Beth Dempsey saw one shop after another popping up along Putnam Avenue in tony Greenwich Connecticut she decided to make it official and create a design destination aptly dubbed the “Greenwich Design District.” Visitors can enjoy a leisurely day of shopping and fine dining in Greenwich or—those on a serious hunt for goods for their home—can bypass the design centers in New York City and enjoy the highest quality showrooms conveniently located right in Fairfield County.

To celebrate the launch of this now official design destination, there will be a Taste & Tour of the Greenwich Design District on October 18 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Stop in at any of the participating shops and showrooms and pickup up one of the Greenwich Design District maps and plot out your game plan for the evening. Each shop will be featuring new product launches, exclusive products, books signings, giveaways and more. There will also be delicious bites at each location to keep you fortified for an evening of design and shopping.

To celebrate the event, the mother-daughter design duo of Suzanne and Lauren McGrath of McGrath II are taking over New England Home‘s Instagram account and bringing us on a virtual shopping trip through the Greenwich Design District. The McGrath’s work has been published in several national magazines and websites, and their blog has developed a well-deserved cult following. The McGraths have long championed investing in the best materials and classic pieces —both modern and traditional—to create spaces that feel timeless, but with a decidedly fresh look. We can’t wait to see what design finds they unearth at this chic shopping destination.
