TAKE A SEAT 2016

Take a Seat is call for submissions! The International Furnishings and Design Association’s New England is now accepting submissions for the fourth annual TAKE A SEAT event. TAKE A SEAT features up-cycled chairs redesigned by design professionals such as builders, craftsman, and interior designers. The furniture is created from an existing chair or built from recycled materials. Here are a few examples from last year’s event to help get the creative juices flowing.

Kick off Cocktail Celebrations: May 3
Traveling Tour at various New England locations: May 10 – 24
Gala & Auction: June 1, deCordova Museum, Lincoln, Massachusetts
Proceeds from the sale of the chairs crafted in New England will benefit the Women’s Institute for Housing & Economic Development, whose mission is to promote economic opportunity and build strong communities by developing safe, affordable, and supportive housing for individuals and families. Last year’s event raised over $21,000 for WIHD.
