City living may not be for everyone, but we’ll venture that the Cambridge house featured in the upcoming May/June issue of New England Home will floor anyone who’s ever had an urban itch. The home itself is a charming centenarian if ever there was one, but it’s the dazzling transformation (executed by two talented locals, architect Mark Wagner and interior designer Amanda Reid of Mandarina Studio) that kicks it up a notch. Think cosmo chic meets family friendly—in a good way. Cool colors, fabulous fabrics and natural light (always at a premium in the city) combine to create a cheerful aerie that doesn’t skimp on style. Take a look … you won’t want to miss this one.
A neutral palette is the backdrop for scene-stealing accents like ruby pillows and a black lacquered coffee table.

Excitement is served in the new formal dining room, thanks to a vintage Danish table and chairs—and a luminous ceiling light of glass and metal.
A lilac-hued nursery with simple furnishings and gentle notes of color promises sweet dreams.
