Sneak Peeks: Reclaimed Treasures

April 5, 2012

By Jared Ainscough

I am a huge supporter of architectural salvage. It’s the New Englander in me, I guess. It satisfies my eagerness to preserve the history of objects, reuse and, in effect, reduce my overall consumption. Also, it guarantees that the piece I use is one of a kind.

That is why I was so excited to see a salvage company come along for our department Design Destination. In New England Home‘s May/June 2012 issue, we feature Restoration Resources in Boston’s South End. The nice thing about this business is that it is a bit more edited than your average salvage shop. They have done the hunting and picking for you. Thus, finding the perfect piece is as easy as walking in the front door.
