Sneak Peek: Depth Finder

Photography is an interesting art form because the artist needs to capture something as opposed to creating it. Where most artists have complete creative control, photographers have to rely on a somewhat different set of skills. Photography is about timing and recognition.
We’ll be featuring photographer David Hilliard in our upcoming July/August issue. Hilliard is a master of timing. His photos capture incredibly intimate moments–almost voyeuristic in their stripped-down emotions. His triptych format resembles the view through a window, further establishing the feeling that the viewer is peering into someone’s secret life. The viewer is immediately connected. Hillard uses his photos to capture subtle emotions that could never be conveyed with a paintbrush or pencil.
