Sneak Peek: A Secret Garden in Fairfield
March 20, 2014
By Maria LaPiana
Just in time to inspire your own garden plan, you won’t want to miss the upcoming story about a dazzling, hidden-from-view garden in Fairfield, Connecticut. Designed by the homeowner and based on the formal, manicured gardens she admired in Europe, the multi-level garden is far more than the sum of its parts. It’s a delightful series of vignettes celebrating color, texture and simplicity—from an orderly parterre on the lower level to a lush upper garden featuring a cherished contemplation niche tucked away under a mass of white hydrangea. There’s nothing showy here, but every tree, plant, flower, path, and ornament is a showstopper all its own. See for yourself, in the spring issue of New England Home Connecticut, on newsstands April 14.
