I’m a sucker for pillows because they’re so useful. Besides painting, they are the quickest way to redecorate a room, change a mood or a season. Needless to say I have a lot of pillows at my house and would gladly make room for more. Here are some favorite softies from my visit to High Point last month.
Made in Miami, V Rugs and Home is mostly about wonderful pillows. They make their own patterns and designs, giving their line an only-by-them look. I’m particularly in love with the tuft-covered stools like the one in navy shown here.

When the rooms needs sparkle, you turn to Pyar & Co. to give it just those touches with sequins, studs or embellished stripes.
Custom, hand made, one-of-a-kind pillows in the richest damasks, brocades and silk velvets are Rebecca Vizard’s trade. The Louisiana artist applies hundreds of years old embroidery and applique pieces onto antique fabrics to create pillows that are just as much conversation pieces as decoration. She also makes the chicest dog collars out of antique Fortuny fabric.
Colorful pillows in graphic patterns are the hallmark of Piper Collection, a two-year-old company started by the mother-daughter team of Whitney and Cindy Caudle in North Carolina.
I’ve long said I could have sheepskin in every room, but from Auskin I can also get it in every color.
