Period Fun on the Post Road
October 6, 2014

The unassuming storefront sits between an accountant and a dentist office. Inside Post Modern Home on Rte. 1 (the Post Road) in Darien, Connecticut, the discoveries are endless. Amazing vintage furnishings and accessories—all of them refurbished and fresh-looking—are displayed against white walls that form loose rooms. Here you’ll find blond wood, Lucite, wrought iron … and countless pieces reborn thanks to buckets of high-gloss paint. More than 5,000 square feet is filled with hand-selected, period pieces—from the periods we know and love! Post Modern Home’s owner, Drew Clark, followed a career in advertising with a venture close to his heart: all things vintage. Knowing that the stuff he fancied needed some love, he created a collaborative of local artisans who specialize in making it beautiful again. Some of it is glam, some groovy—and some a little bit kitsch.
Here are some pics of what’s in the store right now—but a rotating inventory means there is always something new and interesting to see (and buy).
