In my blog post this week I talked about adding some sparkle and shine to the home, and nothing seems more decadent than this one-of-a-kind, nineteenth-century Baccarat caviar server from Devonia Antiques for Dining. The crystal is gilded with 24-karat gold; if you’re going to indulge in caviar, you may as well do it in high style.

I met artist Karen Robertson last month at the New York International Gift Fair while I was browsing the amazing framed coral fans and seashells she creates and sells. The pieces I loved, though, were her framed intaglios of shells and sea creatures. The chalky white impressions are a perfect fit for any New England home.

Yesterday’s blog post gave a sneak peek of our upcoming Connecticut issue’s “Made Here†department, which will feature dbO Home in Sharon, Connecticut. The piece that I was drawn to most is the Esther Lamp. The handcrafted porcelain and walnut table lamp is a collaboration of the husband-and-wife team who run dbO Home. I love the simplicity and elegance, and if I had my choice I would get one in the pear finish.
