I remember when Vermont glassblower Simon Pearce opened one of his first shops in Westport, Connecticut, many years ago. The hand-blown glassware was a welcome respite from the heavy traditional crystal that was popular at the time. Pearce continues to build on his stable of simple and beautifully crafted pieces with the introduction of Terrafirma Ceramics which are made in Astoria, New York. The cobalt and white pottery make great decorative or serving pieces.

When it comes to outdoor furniture, the phrase “low maintenance” is music to my ears. Combine that with great color, comfort, and a reasonable price, and it’s practically symphonic. The Ikea PS 2012 Easy Chair comes in yellow or white and is only $149!
