Friday Favorites 12/27/2013
December 27, 2013

I think I must be cold right now, because when I was deciding what to choose for my Friday favorite this week, the only thing I could think of were blankets. I’m currently wrapped in a lightweight mohair version (very soft and cozy), but if I were to upgrade it, I’d go for something even softer, and even more cozy: Williams-Sonoma’s classic solid cashmere throws. The 520-gram weight, 100 percent cashmere blanket comes in fifteen shades, so you can get one to match the decor in almost any (or every) room in your house.

There are just two weeks left to take in All Paintings Great and Small—an annual exhibition featuring works of art no larger than 12 inches in size—at the Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme, Conn. The show, which closes on Jan. 11, 2014, features paintings by more than 60 artists from around New England (with a concentration of works by artists in Connecticut). Many of the artists are well known to this gallery’s avid aficionados, while others are having their work displayed here for the very first time. The Cooley Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it is located at 25 Lyme St. in Old Lyme. For more information, visit cooleygallery.com
