As a fan of last-minute everything—my mantra is “why do now what you can do this afternoon”—I am thoroughly enjoying these waning days of summer. Also thinking it might be nice to spruce up the yard a bit (if not this weekend, then next) so fall will be just as enjoyable. However, thanks to the oh-so-timely folks who coordinate the short-term “events” at Joss & Main, I’ve been moved to act … because their “Fresh Air” event comes to a close tomorrow (Sept. 21). Last week I produced a photoshoot for the magazine at the home of artist Kerri Rosenthal. Talk about a color experience! In case you haven’t heard of this fantastic Connecticut-based artist, here is one of her more recent works. Her color schemes can move from exuberant to moody, but this one tasted of fall to me. The pinks remind me of the fading native hydrangeas and the grays of the last bits of light at the end of the day. Check out more of her work at kerrirosenthalart.com. Look for her house in a 2014 issue of New England Home Connecticut.
