I fancy myself a minimalist, but that notion is often tested whenever I come across prints: I’m a sucker for a big, bold pattern. So it’s no surprise that these new interior fabrics by Alejandro Cardenas for KnollTextiles caught my eye. Each design—Soon, Glider and Biscayne—was diversely inspired by song, feel, and Florida respectively, but they seem a harmonious collection to me.

Even the most passionate beach lovers sometimes tire of the blue sky, perfect beach, blue water look and long for a variation on the sea’s summery palette. I’ve found it in this Henri Cartier-Bresson photograph of a Norwegian fjord now for sale on Rhode Island-based Heir Antiques’ 1stdibs site. The moody palette, which at once seems both ominous and optimistic depending on your mood, is mounted in modernistic fashion on poplar and is larger than a flat screen. It’s likely to provoke more thought than your television too!

Say Bottega Veneta and it instantly puts one in mind of the most supple, luxuriously soft leather handbags and shoes this side of Venice (the other side, too). It’s no secret that the famed Italian maker of leather goods has dabbled in accessories and luggage, watches and fine jewelry in recent years. And furniture. Impossibly refined, sensuously styled, meticulously crafted furniture. Take a look at what BV’s artisans can deliver, “when your own initials are enough.” To see more (including a line of pet accessories), visit bottegaveneta.com.
