Friday Favorite: Peter Dunham Textiles

October 10, 2014

Text by Lynda Simonton

There are a few design changes on the horizon at casa Simonton this winter. While my home is recently renovated, it seems that some of my furnishings and accessories need a little boost. Whenever I ask a designer about the best way to change a room without too much effort or expense, they invariably respond “change the pillows!” So I’m doing just that. I turned to Pinterest for inspiration, and time and again I pinned rooms that feature textiles by Peter Dunham. His travel-inspired, hand-blocked textiles, mix and match to reflect a seemingly effortless style.

Dunham’s classic Fig Leaf fabric has been a favorite of mine for years, so that is definitely making its way onto a chair or pillow.

A smorgasbord of ethnic prints seems to work better than one standing alone. I am going to challenge myself to mix it up, pick what I love, and see what happens. This photo of Dunham’s living room clearly proves that a variety of textiles can commingle beautifully!
