Let’s hope we’ve seen winter’s last gasp here in New England. But even if another storm does come our way, we can hurry spring along a bit by adding something fresh to our homes—something that suggests the flowers we know will be blooming outside soon and the trips to the beach we’ll soon be taking.
Stacy Carlson, co-owner of Lou Lou’s Decor in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and one of the designers featured in Perspectives in our March-April issue, offers up a few fun things to bring spring warmth to the home.

Bring the beach home no matter where you live with Lobster Rope Door Mats made in Maine. “They’re fun and colorful and are a great way to accent the entry to your home in a light and bright way,” Stacy says.
“This green, white and navy clover appliqué pillow is the perfect spring update. Toss one or two on your sofa for a fresh spring look.”
“Add a pop of orange to your bathroom with these great embroidered accessories in white and orange. The cut-outs add a unique detail.”
While you’re waiting for your gardens to bloom, set your table with these pretty lotus flowers in soft spring hues. The tea light holders are ceramic and come in a range of pastel colors.
Set a table that sings with dishes and accessories in colors of the sea. Make a bold statement at your next dinner party with the bright beaded turquoise and green Aquatic Placemat. Jewel tones pop in the cool colors of turquoise and green in the unique ombre glassware. Mosaic plates and a bowl lend an exotic touch, while the crisp white napkin embroidered with green and turquoise sea-life motifs and the pretty shell napkin ring round out the theme. “This is aquatic decor at its best!” Stacy says.
