By Paula M. Bodah
As our March-April feature about the exuberant interior design of a Rhode Island house shows, Jocelyn Chiappone, of Digs Design, has a knack for mixing styles and using vivid color to create distinctive homes for her clients. Part of the fun of her job is having a whole new array of wonderful products to work with every season. Here, Jocelyn shows us a handful of things that are new this spring, and that she looks forward to using in upcoming projects.
“This new Tini X bench by Oomph is adorable!” Jocelyn says. We agree. Photo courtesy of Oomph
“I can’t get enough of navy lacquer and brass. Pair a piece like this Marcus Cabinet from Worlds Away with green accents for that preppy Newport look.” Photo courtesy of Worlds Away
“The Wave Lounge chair by Schumacher has some gorgeous curves. It’s cozy, too—perfect for curling up with a good book while we wait for spring to finally arrive.” Photo courtesy of Schumacher
“The newest fabric collection from Scion has some fun elements. I like the loose, painterly effect of this chair fabric, a pattern called Meiko.” Photo courtesy of Scion
“The same painterly technique gives lamps with a traditional shape a modern, casual appeal. A lamp like this one from Dana Gibson could brighten a room without ever having to turn on a switch.” Photo courtesy of Dana Gibson
“Bunny Williams does this fabulous Brush Stroke Lamp. I can’t wait to use it in a project.” Photo courtesy of Bunny Williams Home
“Getting a new look for spring is so easy if you simply switch out a light fixture. Nothing says spring like bright colors. I love this great Jonathan Chevron Pendant from Stray Dog Designs, which comes in an array of colors. It would be a perfect addition to a mudroom or a sun porch. Photo courtesy of Stray Dog Designs
“Natural elements always bring a summery feel to the home. This new banana-bark chandelier from Made Goods is an organic masterpiece!” Photo courtesy of Made Goods
You might even spot some of these fun, fresh, new items in Digs Design’s new studio and shop, opening in May at 99 Spring Street, Newport, Rhode Island.
