Creating a Beach Inspired Great Room
May 27, 2015
When we approached Nantucket based interior designer Nina Liddle to create a great room for our 2015 New England Home Cape & Islands issue, Nina actually came back to us with two schemes for a coastal-inspired gathering spot. One landed in the issue and the other we are sharing here on the blog. Both of them will help create a welcoming space for gathering after a day at the beach.
John Himmel Rope Sofa
“This hand woven rope sofa adds richness and texture to any space. The beautiful piece is a perfect complement to a beach house setting.”
Photography by Michael Gaillard
"Michael’s large format photographs are a gorgeous statement for any room. The composition and lighting are both serene and beautiful – His field works are my favorite and he happens to shoot most of them in my two favorite places Nantucket and Nosara, Costa Rica.”
Peter Fasano Fabrics
“Hand silk-screened in Great Barrington, Rhode Island. These beautiful fabrics use water soluble pigments that are earth based. Peter Fasano’s collection includes florals, geometrics and whimsical patterns. His collection is a “go to” fabric for Nina Liddle Design.”
Aerin Lauder Culleden Lamp
"I love this lamp! Combining Navy and Turquoise is a fresh twist to the classic navy palette that works so well in summer homes."
Hand woven 100% Silk Throw from Island Weaves
“Everyone needs a fabulous throw on their sofa to provide luxurious warmth on those cool summer nights. This silk is spun in Switzerland and is much thicker than other silks. Woven in a thin herringbone."
Nina’s second design scheme for a welcoming great room can be found in the 2015 issue of New England Home Cape & Islands.
