Boston Pop-Up Shops

Flash shops and pop-up shops are popping up all over Boston giving us more holiday shopping options than ever.  Here are a few that are worth a visit.

Newton-based interior designer, and uber-popular design blogger Erin Gates has curated a small shop within M. Flynn in Boston’s South End. Erin’s M. Flynn jewelry line, handbags, photography by Sarah Winchester, pillows, and other presonally selected items are for sale. The star of the show is the line of ceramics that Erin has created with Jill Rosenwald. The latest and stand-out addition to the collection is a Delft, a contemporary take on traditional delftware.

The charming Beekman Boys came have been on my radar for a while now, and I love to visit their website for a dose of homespun-hipster charm. A visit their farm has been on my to-do list, so I was disappointed to see that an August 2016 tour of the farm has already sold out. Bostonians may just have to settle for a visit to their small pop-up shop in the Lenox Hotel. The pretty display has the Beekman Boys’ books for sale along with an assortment of candles, lotions and potions, homemade goodies, and a few farm-fresh accessories from their Beekman 1802 shop. This is a great spot to stock-up on hostess gifts for the upcoming holiday season. Hotel guests will be treated to soaps, shampoos, and lotions from the Beekman 1802 line in their rooms.

An Etsy artisan pop-up shop has opened up at 301 Newbury Street just in time for holiday shopping. The shop has a lovely assortment of hand crafted jewelry and small accessories in a wide range of styles. It’s a convenient option for people who want to support local craftsman, and like to peruse the goods in person before purchasing. I’ve already put a beautiful druzy ring from Lara Adrienne of Rocked Jewelry in Somerville, Massachusetts on my Christmas list!

Cambridge based interior designer Millicent Cutler is hosting a pop-up store called Ouimillie in November and December, featuring fashion and home accessories from emerging European designers. I have yet to check out this shop, but it looks promising! The shop is open now through November 22 at Warehouse XI 11 Sanborn Ct Union Sq, Somerville, Massachusetts. During the month of December the shop will reside at Half Crown Design, 357 Huron Avenue in Cambridge. Shop hours are Thursday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday, 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
