You think your family knows how to fun?
Well, meet the McConvilles. They live on the Connecticut shoreline—and when we say live, we really mean it. A long-ago vacation and a hankering to entertain at the water’s edge are what inspired Joan and John McConville to create an uncommon family retreat that, as fun goes, leaves nothing to be desired. At the heart of it all is a drop-dead gorgeous 1,200-square-foot Shingle-style pavilion designed by Point One Architects in Old Lyme. A structural wonder (because of its proximity to the water and FEMA regulations), the “poolhouse/playhouse” is the epitome of style and comfort. It was designed as an indoor-outdoor space, with an open plan, terraces and a pergola-shaded deck. There’s an infinity pool, spa, a fire pit, outdoor shower and a putting green. And that’s not all: The interior will knock you out. This amazing space will be in the fall issue of New England Home Connecticut. Enjoy!
