A Chic Litchfield County Farmhouse
June 9, 2015

Country style is charming and timeless, but the truth is, it can be overwhelming at times. At least that’s the perception held by some weekenders. There’s a story about such a couple in the summer issue of New England Home Connecticut. They fell in love with a Litchfield County, Connecticut, farmhouse—but not so much with the way it had been decorated. The problem: The home, which came furnished, was just too decorated. So they called in a designer, Claudia Kalur of CFK Interiors in South Kent, CT, to remedy the situation. Kalur started with the color palette, and then, taking very clear cues from the homeowners, gave the place a jolt of “modern chic.” The result was unfussy but comfortable—and completely on the money. Don’t miss this cool transformation; the New England Home Connecticut summer issue is on newsstands July 14, 2015.
