Designers Rhonda Eleish and Edie Van Breems say that Nantucket’s alluring spirit is not unlike that of Sweden’s island communities. Situated downtown, the new shop is stocked with items to further living
well indoors and out.

Talented designers, authors, and experts on all things Scandinavian, Rhonda Eleish and Edie Van Breems have sailed their beautiful, well-crafted Nordic wares over to Nantucket.

Not unlike their popular Connecticut store, the new Eleish Van Breems Home exudes a Danish boathouse feel.

But here there’s also a deck, a garden, and water views. It’s an ideal setting for Dedon’s outdoor furniture and Brita’s indoor/outdoor rugs. Swedish-born Freemover candlesticks, Paradisverkstaden pottery, and Lonneberg metal sculptures mingle happily with Natan Moss’s artful pottery lamps and Avantgarden’s stunning leather-wrapped and brass lighting. The last is available in a marine-blue color that nods to the ocean.

There’s also “an amazing assortment of Swedish linens, napkins, throws, aprons, and pillows,” Van Breems points out, along with smaller items like trays and votives. Everything, be it a hand-painted piece from the designers’ own furniture line, a modern midcentury must-have, or a Gustavian antique, will elevate island living. Indeed, folks with summer houses really luck out. Cognizant that time is fleeting, the designers also maintain a local warehouse. If, say, a customer covets one of their luxurious Verellen sofas, Presto! No need to wait for a boat.
