Kristan McLaughlin: From the Streets of Paris to the Suites of Boston

Maison et Objet, the international authority for home decor, interior design, architecture and lifestyle, kicks off each year with a home decor fair that connects members of the interior design and lifestyle communities from all around the world.

Walking the halls at Maison et Objet provides no shortage of beauty and inspiration that now can be found right here in New England throughout the showrooms of the Boston Design Center (BDC).  These new arrivals can be found in all your favorite BDC showrooms including Studio 534, The Martin Group, Romo, M-Geough and Webster & Company, to name a few.

The brand new product now at the BDC will transport designers and design-enthusiasts alike to Paris, sans passport.

Among many of products launched by Studio 534 were soft and sophisticated fabric lines such as the ‘Maras’ collection by Sandra Jordan and another by Christopher Farr Cloth. In the Studio 534 showroom at the BDC, much like in the suites at Maison et Objet, there is an endless supply of variety.

Part of ‘The Muse’ collection by Zoffany, these deep, bold designs add an elevated level of drama to any space.

These rich and daring wallcoverings evoke a Parisian decadence and sophistication and can now be found in The Martin Group showroom. New collections from Samuel & Sons and Pierre Frey that wowed in Paris have also landed in the showroom.

In Paris, Romo welcomed its first-ever rug line.

Mark Alexander’s new ‘Outline’ collection for Romo packs a punch of character and grace in Romo carpets and fabrics. He creates bold, clean looks that make a statement in any space.

M-Geough introduces new fabric lines from J. Samuel. This line of linens is delicate yet daring with hints of bright blue giving an ‘oomph’ softer grey tones – remind us of the ever-changing skies that swirl over Paris.

Unexpected fabrics and textures like those featured in Paris are now at home in the M-Geough showroom at the Boston Design Center.

Webster & Company welcomed a host of new products and product lines. Nobilis, C&C Milano, and James Malone Fabrics introduced the world to a slew of bright, textured fabrics that leave a note of international inspiration. The textiles made of rich material and color awaken in us a sense of adventure.

C&C Milano

Walking the hallways of the Boston Design Center is an international experience comparable to walking the streets of Parisian fairs full of exciting textiles and eclectic pieces. It is sure to leave visitors with a sense of wanderlust and inspiration.
