Winter Flower Arrangements in Silver and White

If a warm weather get-away isn’t in the budget, winter flower arrangements in silver and white can help you make it through the coldest of months.
Silver and white, the pretty hues of winter, are my favorite pick to grace my dining table in my home. White tulips can be easily found at the supermarket or Trader Joe’s, and they are often priced at fewer than ten dollars a bunch. Buy a few bunches and indulge guilt free! Pair these white blooms with some silver vessels and you can easily create an elegant arrangement. What could be easier?
Recently, while working on a floral arranging project for Country Gardens Magazine’s early spring 2017 issue, I happily discovered the magic of creating silver foliage. Spray painting foliage or other natural objects with silver paint creates an amazing effect that highlights the textures, patterns, and shapes of the just about anything with a quick pass of paint.
This petite bouquet proves that beauty can come in small packages. Here I created a small arrangement in a simple glass vessel. One white rose sits in the center of silvered leaves and small flower heads picked from the garden.
I did a bit of experimenting, and was pleasantly surprised to see how exquisite a pineapple is with a coating of silver paint. The patterns and textures are incredible!
Want a quick and easy centerpiece for your next dinner party? Gather your friends around a table with a wintry glow by arranging white flowers in small silver julep cups and mix them among tall white pillar candles. A mirrored base adds sparkle and an inviting glow that will have friends lingering around the table.
