High Point Market — InterHall Favorites

In this day of digital catalogs and online shopping, why is it important to attend shows like High Point? As one designer put it to me, “Your client is expected to shop from their laptop. As a professional you shop with your eye and your feet.” I take that to mean it’s best to see things in person.
While you should try to attend at least every few years, not everyone can get to the numerous furniture shows that happen around the globe. If you didn’t make it to High Point Market in North Carolina this past month, here are a few things you could seek out on your own. In two weeks I’ll have more, but here are a few picks from InterHall.
I’ve seen the woven, the teak has been done—Gloster makes me long for more sculptural, modern outdoor pieces like these. Their outdoor furniture really pops in a clean, sexy way.

I’m a huge fan of Emporium Home and just adore their lamps and brass trays lined with giant jewels, but it was this oversize mirror inset with turquoise that really caught my eye this time around. I love the juxtaposition of gold and blue, shiny and earthy.
“Fortune Favors the Bold” chandelier is one of the new pieces designed by Shannon Koszyk for Currey and Company. Bold, historic and gritty is how I see her rock and romance-inspired pieces.
Over-scaled and lacquered (two of my favorite things), these tables by Roberta Schilling would make great centerpieces in any room.
