Linder is a partner at the Boston design firm Evolve Residential. He, along with business partner Thomas Egan, work on a vast range of projects from a contemporary home in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to a traditional compound on Nantucket Sound. While the scale and style of the projects vary, Josh’s careful attention to detail and scale are a constant.

Linder and Egan take a holistic approach to architectural and interior design, ensuring a cohesive, complete vision for their clients. “The combined efforts of multiple minds on a project results in the best design,” says Linder. “When you push the limits and see how far you can take something and still keep it tasteful and sophisticated and exciting.”
Tasteful, sophisticated, and exciting are certainly themes found throughout Linder’s work. And while the “5 Under 40” award might be his first design honor, we feel confident that it won’t be his last.

Josh and the other award winners will be feted at the annual “5 Under 40” gala on September 10 at the Landry & Arcari Rugs & Carpeting showroom in Boston. A highlight of the event will be the auctioning of rugs designed by the honorees.
Linder’s rug design depicts a stunning tree fabricated in undulating textures and vibrant colors. “I love to start with nature….it is a tremendous source of inspiration for me. Color, texture, shade, movement, composition and balance…I find it all in nature. And it’s always there, that my design journey begins. In this profession, we aspire to create designs that are beautiful and original. We aspire to create that which nature achieves. We aspire to use these resources to help us thrive…with profound respect for their origin.”
